Gathered last June 30, 2017 at Mabinay Spring and Resort, Negros Oriental in celebration of its first anniversary as a region.

3k seedlings planted in Negros watershed area

The tree planting campaign dubbed as: Greening the environment the NIA way is in support to the National Irrigation Administration’s (NIA) advocacy in preserving the environment and a kick off activity for its 54th anniversary.

In Sitio Ilaya, Brgy. Banban Ayungon, the planting site is a watershed area of Tambulan, Negros Oriental and Hilabangan, Negros Occidental irrigation project and Banban River as its water source.

Administrator Visaya inks contract to Negros farmers

The declaration of President Duterte on Free Irrigation Service (IS) brought about new policies and directives for NIA.

Through the NIA Board Resolution No. 8396-17 series of 2017 stating the approved guidelines on Free Irrigation Service followed by the Memorandum Circular No. 13 series of 2017 stating the salient features of the guidelines.

New NIA Administrator Ricardo R. Visaya led the Mass Signing of 50 Irrigation Management Transfer (IMT) Contracts in Negros Island Region. This was conducted at May’s Organic Garden and Restaurant last May 2, 2017.

NIA Negros Island Region - The long and much awaited bill that aims to mandate transparency of public documents has finally laid down by the Duterte Administration through the Freedom of Information Bill under Executive Order No. 2, Series of 2016.

The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) has attended series of meeting regarding the preparation of the agency’s FOI manual with the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) under Secretary Andanar.

NIA-NIR HOLDS 1ST IA CONGRESS

NIA Negros Island Region drives to strengthen the Irrigator’s Associations (IAs) from the two provinces of the island by conducting its first general assembly. An avenue to capacitate the farmers on the provisions of free irrigation service and the agency’s institutional development programs.

A total of 146 Irrigator’s Association (IA) officers gathered at Pavilion Hotel, Bacolod City last February 23, 2017 named NIR CONFEDERATION OF IRRIGATORS’ ASSOCIATIONS, INC., representing the youngest regional office of the National Irrigation Administration (NIA).

NEGROS ISLAND REGION WELCOMES THE NEW NIA ADMINISTRATOR

BAGO CITY, Negros Occidental (Jan. 5) – Administrator Peter Tiu Laviña, National Irrigation Administration conducted his first visit to NIA’s youngest regional office.

Together with Regional Manager Mario H. Sande (NIRIO), Engr. Lorena B. Sioco, Officer-in-charge, Negros Occidental Irrigation Management (NOIMO) and Engr. Nestor M. Pastor, Head, Negros Oriental Satellite Office (NOSO), the newest Administrator Laviña inspected the NIR – Regional Office Building.
