September 15, 2016 - Negros Island Regional Irrigation Office officially breaks the ground for the construction of the proposed NIRIO Building. Exactly 100 days since Engr. Mario H. Sande assumed his role as the first Regional Manager.

“A good infrastructure gives pride and honor to the employees which will result to a more efficient and productive performance”, according to Engr. Sande.

“This ceremony is an implication that we have the capability to move as a new region” he added.

During the ceremony a historical laying of time capsule was conducted containing significant documents for the construction of the NIRIO building.

The 5 Million facility will accommodate the personnel under the regional office and will help in NIRIO’s full operationalization. The 565 square meter building is expected to be completed in the mid of January 2017. This is conveniently located at Celis St., Brgy. Poblacion, Bago City, Negros Occidental.

Another breakthrough set forth by NIA’s youngest Regional Irrigation Office.
